Awsome Helmet
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had this hemet about 1 year now. I bought it while living in Germany. I just laid my motorcycle down and this helmet worked perfect. It absorbed the impact and my head has never been better, wish my ribs were the same. I am going to buy another Multitec once I get my bike back up and running. My head is worth the cost!!
New version of a classic helmet is a winner.

We’ve used both the 1980s BMW flip-ups and previous Shoei versions. This new one fits SOOOO much better than all the previous ones, and has such flexibility for the installation of communications units. Those of us who wear glasses really like this concept for a helmet. A recent fall down showed me it works for great protection.
Feel protected with this helmet

I ride motorcycles for about 25 years. This Shoei helmet is the most confortable one I ever used, I enjoy silent riding, fresh air very well in controll and a snug, fitting. It’s a little bit heavy, but that is the price you have to pay for a good protection
Shoei Multitec Helmet

Bought this through Amazon 3 months ago, and am very pleased with its performance. No idea how the flip-up face piece will do in a bad fall (thank you very much), but the improvements over full-face helmets I have owned make it worth the price. Being able to keep my glasses on when donning/removing the helmet and being able to lift the faceplate while stopped in hot Florida traffic are both a plus.
The helmet’s fit is excellent (Size M, 7 1/8-7 1/4), the operation of the faceplate is easy wearing heavy gloves, and the finish is typical Shoei – superb. The selectable open/closed nose and temple vents work as advertised and, when open, flow enough air over the faceplate to keep it from fogging on cold mornings.
The only negative I can find is noise: the helmet is noiser than my last Arai full-face, and is noticeable enough on long trips hat I’ve started using earplugs while riding. Regardless, I highly recommend this to someone who’s more comfortable with a full-face helmet.
Worth the extra price? … maybe…

The real question here is whether or not the flip up nature of the helmet is worth the additional price. I get a lot of utility being able to increase my peripheral vision while backing up. If you aren’t riding on freeways or busy streets, but rather have the opportunity to pull over easily to grab some water, it’s also a nice feature.
Detrimentally though, it fogs more readily than a much cheaper scorpion helmet, and the buckle pull constantly rotates into an annoying position making the helmet difficult to fasten if you’ve already put your gloves on. Operation while riding is rather simple, although the top air intake setting is so easily changed that you have to check it each time to make sure it has not been closed inadvertently.
Aesthetically, it’s worth noting that with ten minutes, a plastic kitchen scraper, and some goo-gone, you can remove the obnoxious forehead billboard Shoei apparently thinks none of us mind displaying to advertise for them. This particular color happens to match the ’07 suzuki sv red color. It also matches the similar yamaha color.
